Free Samsung Kies for iphone instal2/20/2024 You can personalise services too, simply by becoming a Samsung Apps member or registering your mobile phone. ![]() Using Samsung Kies, you can view apps in full screen on your PC, no matter what network you’re on. I'll look into the various wireless options, like Airdroid everyone's been recommending if I do find a solution, I'll report back to to this thread.Samsung Kies connects your PC to your phone, making it easier for you to synchronise data and find new apps. Reason I don't simply use Kies & forget about AFT is that Kies interferes with another useful utility, Easy Phone Sync, a Samsung-sponsored that seems to be the only game in town for fully syncing music (including the playlists themselves) from iTunes to the S3 (the utility works for me only if Kies is not installed on the Macbook). My MB won't run ML, so can't compare it on the same HW.Īs further data, Kies (version 2.5_7) does work fine for file transfer back & forth (both external SD card and internal storage), as does Eltima's SyncMate (V4.0) utility to sync iCal & Address Book data. I wonder why your setup works on SL & mine doesn't. I tried all the various combinations of connecting phone first / running AFT manually, USB Debegging mode on/off etc. Unfortunately Android File Transfer does not & never worked for me on Snow Leopard (Macbook running a stable longtime 10.6.8 system) - I get either the "No Android Device Found" or "Could not connect to device" error, depending on whether PTP or MTP mode is selected on the phone. I have a new Samsung S3, GT-i9300 Intl'l version, running an (unrooted) stock version of the Android OS (ICS 4.0.4). Just wanted to chime in here with a different datum. It's been more than a decade since I plugged my first mobile device into my first Apple laptop you'd think this sort of silliness would be behind us these days. I'm pretty disappointed by both Apple's recent "QA" issues, and Google/Samsung for making us do this tapdance in the first place. When I do, I get the classic notification and screen allowing me to turn on USB storage which will give me access to both the internal storage and the MicroSD. is go into Settings -> USB Utilities, under USB mass storage I hit the Connect storage to PC button, which will show me a popup prompting me to connect the USB. Since the last update to 10.7.5 (at least that's when I noticed it) if I just plug it in, it now does the dreaded "Connected as a media device" thing, which means it's doing nothing since the Android File Transfer app can't see it at this point. This may or may not help anyone, but I've found after the most recent update to Lion I have to trick the OS into mounting the phone as a mass storage device. Just select "Other." in the menu and browse to find the application you wish. In the bottom left corner of the window (when device is connected) there is a small "triangle in a box" icon tht shows/hides opening preferences for your device. You can do it inside Apple's Image Capture application. Oh, and you can also setup the Mac to open the newly created Fluid app for AirDroid every time the phone is connected. Just tell Fluid to open any link inside its panels in the preferences, type the AirDroid address in the "URL" field and you can even add an icon (you can download it from the Play Store web page of AirDroid, just drag the icon to the desktop and choose it in Fluid preferences). If you are an advanced user you can also setup Fluid ( free for Mac Os) to create a web App for the mac that opens AidDroid. all the contents of the phone (even the clipboard if you want to do copy-paste between Mac and phone). ![]() ![]() The camera recognizes and reads the large dotty icon, and automatically connects the two. Click the small camera icon inside the app (on the phone) and point the phone camera at the Mac screen. Open a browser on the Mac and go to the address specified on the phone screen (you can bookmark it in the browser). Just search and install AirDroid from Google Play store on the mobile and click start. If you have wifi, AirDroid is free and does a lot more (also reads and sends SMS messages from the Mac). I think for now you have to use some other software.
